In our hands, the Michelin Wild AM2 shows serious potential for competitive trail riding. The Gum-X rubber compound delivers predictable, sticky grip even when slightly dirty, a quality we appreciate on mixed surfaces. Its Gravity Shield casing strikes a strong balance between puncture protection and suppleness, absorbing bumps without sacrificing responsiveness. We tested both 2.6” and 2.4” versions, with the wider tire offering more assurance on rough rocky terrain, while the narrower one provides a faster roll on smoother trails.Tubeless setup was seamless, and the folding design adds to our lace-up convenience. While it competes with high-end options, the Wild AM2 stands out for its consistent performance and versatility. Not quite unbeatable, but undeniably impressively capable.
